Update on Club Services
Changes to the Club’s Operation
You may be aware that the operation of the University Club has transferred to our newly appointed service provider, Compass Group, from Sunday 1 October 2017. This new agreement is a long term partnership providing an exciting opportunity for the Club’s services to develop and bring a strong level of innovation over the contract’s life-time.
The café, bar and restaurant, along with the small function room in the lower ground floor will be refurbished to create a warm and inviting space for the benefit of our members. The refurbishment will commence 28 August 2018 and will be completed on 14 September 2018. Please anticipate some noise and general disruption throughout the refurbishment, and we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, but hope that you enjoy the improvements to the Club post-refurbishment. There may be some be some noise disruption between 8 - 5pm on Monday to Friday and 9 - 5pm at weekends. We will continue to provide bedroom accommodation, however, we will be unable to provide food service during this period. We will continue to operate the gym and astro-turf pitch throughout the refurbishment.
Reception is open from 08.00 to 16.00 Monday to Friday. Outside of these times, the Duty Manager will endeavour to answer your questions. Please have your membership details or University card number ready.
Occasionally we have events or activities that may create noise in the evenings. Please ask us about this at the time of booking should you have any concerns.
The booking of sports facilities remains unchanged. More details about sports facilities and classes can be found here.
Due to the impact of the Tinbergen decant, first floor facilities will not reopen for the foreseeable future. If you do require venue space it can be booked at other Facilities Management (FM) event venues, details can be found here. In addition, after the refurbishment the small function room will be available to hire though our Oxford Venues service.
