The introduction to Argentine Tango will run: Tuesday nights 7.30-8.30 (8 week course, weeks 2-9)
The course costs £45 per person (8 lessons & 8 practice sessions), and is for 14 couples maximum.
No previous dance experience is required, but we do ask you to sign up with a partner. If you don't have a partner but would like to do the course please do read on…
We'll allocate places to those who are quickest to let us know that they're interested, pay for the course and join the Dance Section. One efficient way to do that is to e-mail us to let us know you'd like a place, and then come to the trial class: £5.00 in the MPR at the University Club, from 7.30-8.30pm Tuesday 1st week (15th January 2013).
If you don't have a partner you might be able to find someone to team up with at this class. After the class, if you like tango the way we teach it, you can register and pay the £45 for the Tuesday evening course. If you can't come to the class you can leave the cheque/ registration form at Worcester College Lodge. We'll give more details of how to pay and register to people who let us know they're interested.
Tango – Practice If you already dance tango, you're welcome to come to the practices run throughout the year at the Club: Tuesdays 9.30-11.00pm Wednesdays 9.00-10.30pm, cost £1.

Tuition is available in martial arts of European origin, concentrating upon fencing with the small-sword and back-sword of c.1700 but also extending to pugilism of c. 1800 and touching upon Edwardian self-defence techniques.
The training is suitable for both men and women, and is taught by BFHS (http://www.bfhs.org) insured and certified instructors. the first two lessons are free and £5 each thereafter, with £20 per year insurance. Equipment is provided for beginning students.

The club instructors (Minh Chung, 4th Dan and Ian Treherne, 3rd Dan) each have over 25 years of karate experience. All are welcome to come along to any session, either as beginners or those with some martial arts experience. Traditional karate is suitable for all ages and abilities (we only accept adult members). Karate is excellent all round training for both body and mind, as well as an effective form of self defence.

Running
The Hurriers Running Club meet for runs on Tuesday at 1pm and Thursday evening at 7pm Meet downstairs outside the changing rooms at the Club by the back door. Typically the runs last 30-40min with alternative routes for all abilities, and we tend to meet in the club bar for food and drink after the run on Thursday evening. New runners are welcome to join us at any time, although those less confident in their running abilities may prefer to wait for the special "newcomers" sessions (usually the first Tuesday and Thursday of every month) where we attempt to provide escorts and 30 minute-routes whatever your speed. Squash The squash courts at the end of the sports ground are available at various times of the day for booking by members of the squash club only. Oxford Academicals Rowing Club welcomes rowers and scullers to the men’s and women’s squads. The Club competes at various regattas throughout the year, as well as offering social rowing for those who’d rather stay on the Isis. Cricket OUCCC The Oxford University Club Cricket Club is for all staff graduates and students of Oxford University and members of the University Club. The club has excellent facilities including outdoor nets and cricketing equipment. The team plays regularly during the summer with games taking place on Sundays, either at our home ground (at the University Club, Mansfield Road), or at the often picturesque home grounds of our opponents.
Currently the OUCCC is running winter net sessions at the Oxford Community School in Cowley, Oxford, every Saturday from 13:00 to 15:00 at a cost of £2/£3 for students and non-students respectively – anyone welcome! During the summer months, there will be regular net sessions at the University Club nets on: Tuesdays and Fridays from 17:00 to 19:00
